How is life as a teenager different from your grandparents? By Maribel Sosa Lorenzana

How is life as a teenager different from your grandparents?

When my grandparents were teenagers, there wasn't any social media, nor any TV, so all they would do was hang out with their friends, or a couple, or they could also read a magazine, listen to the radio or music, or just chill in their house. They used to do some sports while they were in high school. my grandma used to play Baseball, volleyball, football, and any other sport with her friends while she was in high school. Meanwhile, my grandpa would help out his uncle after school since he lived with him.

Compared to their life when they were teenagers, and how life is now for teenagers is way different than theirs was. right now, many teens like to play video games or watch a series instead of going out. In my case, I sometimes like to stay home and spend time with my friends, playing guitar and piano, sometimes some reading, and also drawing. I think times have changed so much, but in a good way, since now teenagers have more freedom to do things than they used to do in the past.

WHY IS THE LIFE OF OUR GRANDPARENTS BETTER? By Rodrigo Buenfil Herrera

WHY IS THE LIFE OF OUR GRANDPARENTS

BETTER?

BY RODRIGO BUENFIL HERRERA 3-A

When my grandparents were younger, they used to take the bus, but I only need to get to the car, my grandpa used to read a lot of books to search for information, now I only need to search in my phone, he used to watch TV at specific hours, now I can watch in at every time I want my grandpa to talk to his friends, he used to wait for his friends' answer the phone or wait until the next day, now I can send a message every time I want,.

My grandpa to pay for his things, he used to work in the shop of his dad's shop to pay for his snacks, now I can pay for it with the money from my parents.

When my grandpa wanted to play, he used to go outside to play with his friends, but my parents don't let me go out.

The Person I most Admire. By Rodrigo Buenfil Herrera

MY DAD

BY RODRIGO BUENFIL HERRERA 3-A

Introducción

I admired my dad because he is one of the people most dedicated to their job, when I was 5

years old, he lost his store, but he saw how to get the family together. He is my best friend,

he taught me all I know, how to drive, to study alone, and to do my homework. Another thing

I admire about him is that he had time for me and my sister. It doesn't matter if he has

work, he will always be there when we call him. He teaches me to work with cars, I love him, it

doesn’t matter if he gets mad with me because he is my dad.

The Person I Most Admire. By Natalia Cobo

Hello, my name is Natalia. I admire a great person who gets along with everyone, has a great sense of humor, has a stable economic life, and likes the same things as me. His name is Diego Ulibarri. He has a horse medicine branch and laboratories in different countries. I want to be like him when I’m older, obviously, I want to change some things, but I will love to have his life. He is now a grown man with a wife and two children, with whom I get along. I know him because of my dad.
Diego is a professional vet specialized in horses. He is the official vet of the USA horse jumping equestrian team. He is friends with my idol, Laura Kraut. He often travels to different countries with the team. He also has his own laboratory in like 3 different countries, his own medicine brand, and a horse transloading organization. I want to be like him, but just a little bit different.

Pros and Cons of Being the Firstborn. By Natalia Cobo.

 Firstborn Advantage/Disadvantage

Advantages: You have your own clothes, you are the king of the house for a certain time (before the 2nd baby is born), you can use your little brother as a slave because you look like someone cool to him.

Disadvantages: Since your parents are new to taking care of a baby, they make more mistakes than with the second child, you have to take care of more things than the smallest, sometimes you even have to take care of the child while your parents are not home. You have more responsibilities.

My Life Now and Then . By Natalia Cobo.

Let’s compare my life now to my life from primary. My school back then started at 8 a.m. and we finished at 2p.m or so, honestly, I don’t remember very well. Back then, I had many friends, but I had only one friend with whom I was always with. I’ve changed schools, my friends stayed at the same school, but now I don’t have as much contact as I used to with them.

WONDER. A Book Review. By Alex Flores Sanchez

 Alex Flores

Wonder

I wanted to share my thoughts on a really interesting book called "Wonder" written by R.J. Palacio. This novel tells the story of August Pullman, a boy born with a significant facial difference. The main point of the book is how a 10-year-old boy prepares to go to a regular school for the very first time and how he sees a world that isn't always prepared for someone like him.

The story kicks off when August starts fifth grade at Beecher Prep. What I found really cool is that the story isn't just told by August; his sister Via, and his friends like Summer and Jack Will also get to narrate chapters. This way, you understand things from many different viewpoints. You see how some classmates don't treat him well at first, and also how not everybody makes genuine friends. It also shows you how strong August is and how his parents, like all parents, encourage him at school.

Wonder really moved me because of its powerful message about empathy and kindness and the way the author manages to make you understand what each character feels. I really admire I think the most impactful part is seeing how brave August is and how he inspires others.

Honestly, I really recommend "Wonder" to all my friends and anyone looking for a story that makes you think. It's an excellent book for us to learn more about being inclusive and how important kindness is in our daily lives.

The Queen´s Gambit. By Alex Flores Sanchez.

 The Queen's Gambit

Right from the start, the series grabs you with an intriguing opening and introduces you to Beth Harmon, a young orphan with an extraordinary talent for chess.

The plot keeps you hooked as Beth battles her personal demons while rising in the competitive world of chess. The writing is excellent, and the performances are fantastic, especially Anya Taylor-Joy as Beth.

In short, if you enjoy stories of overcoming adversity with complex characters and an absorbing pace, you should definitely give "The Queen's Gambit" a try. I highly recommend it!

A Dialogue about Music. By Alejandro Flores

 Task #13

Bach: What's up, young one? You are lost in thought!

Flores: Yes, I'm thinking about how to compose your music for a new poetry project.

Bach: Mozart, and Chopin both follow harmony together. What then?

Flores: Well, I always knew instinctively, but now to compose it yet both instruments are equally.

Bach: Exactly! You should know that today, I'm going to help you.

Flores: And I'm ready to expand your new thoughts and create your deep melodies.

Bach: Well said! Melody is what truly matters.

Flores: Thanks, Bach! Now I know how to expand my skills

The Person I Most Admire. By Alejandro Flores Sanchez.

I think she has one of the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen in my entire life, and she has the kindness that no one has. She is an incredible person. She always helps me with my tasks, exams, and more. She is one of the reasons I always try to do my best in all my activities because she's not only my mother, she is my motivation and the reason I always do my best, so I'm so thankful I can have her in my live because I don't know what I would do if she was not there for me anymore.

The Mirror. By Alex Flores Sanchez

 Alex Flores

Writing – The Mirror

It is 1958 in a town near Turkey in where there have been many disappearances of people, without a trace, but in many different rooms, which makes it impossible to discover the reason for those killings. Unfortunately, the situation had escalated to the point that a guy lost the only thing that he loved, his family: his three brothers and his mother, Milly. They moved to that house in the center of the city to begin a new life, but the house where the things happened was very interesting because when you appear in front of the door you couldn’t see the house, it was as if nothing was there, you could only see your own cross reflection. The house was only “impressive” but all the rest was dark and very confusing. When they passed the family to the house, they didn’t feel safe in the house, and in the middle of the night, the youngest son, Daniel, was bullied for his appearance. He was a bit sad, and that is how he got there; he had had a mirror, and when he saw himself, his appearance had hurt him a lot.

Every time he saw the mirror, he could find something bad in himself, and one day, there was a voice that the felt was from the mirror. It was a man’s voice. The mirror is not made of glass; it is a portal to a 4th time dimension that worked as a dark, sinister age. He only had a voice, he told him, “Until you finally see your value and report this horrible problem you’re going to be locked forever.” That was invisible because the other world was at the same time, that’s what made it different. But the little child was scared, so he go in his cage and stayed in bed all day until nightfall. He decided to go and find the voice to see once and for all how he looked from that world.

He brought a lighter to see himself in the mirror and a man was with him and told him:

“Could you trade me your lighter to get out?”

He finally gave it to him. The man grabbed the lighter and forced it go outside with how you all help. Daniel, being so scared, told him that he wants to go back.

A chilling voice told him, “Daniel, you forgot to grab your lighter.” He turned around and saw a box for his light.

But the man grabbed the equivalent can of gasoline and set him on fire with the lighter while the other Daniel enjoyed his life in that world. Assuming that he is the one who basically killed the little Daniel.

Cristiano Ronaldo. By Alejandro Flores Sanchez.

 Cristiano Ronaldo

I admire Cristiano Ronaldo because he is a true example of dedication and hard work. Since he was little he worked hard to become one of the best footballers in the world. His ability on the field is impressive and he always gives his last in every game. He has a great mindset and never gives up, which inspires me to follow my own dreams. I also like how he helps others and cares about his family. Cristiano is not only a great player, he also is a good person no matter what problem he has, he tries to have a smile in every bad moment so that’s why I admire him.
