Social media plays a major role in young people's lives, offering opportunities for communication and self-expression. However, its impact on mental health is widely debated. 

On the negative side, social media harms self-esteem as young people compares themselves to idealized images online, leading to Feelings of inadequacy. It is also linked to anxiety and depression, as users often seek validation through likes and comments. Furthermore, cyberbullying is a common issue, with many experiencing harassment and emotional distress. Social media addiction is another concern, as excessive screen time disrupts sleep and reduces face-to-face interactions. 

On the other hand, social media offers benefits for mental health. It provides support. through online communities, particularly for those feeling isolated. Those platforms also raise awareness about mental health issues, offering resources and encouragement. Additionally, Creative expression through posts and videos com boost confidence and foster a sense of achievement. 

In conclusion, social media can negatively affect mental health through comparison, Cyberbullying, and overuse, but it also fosters connection and support. Its impact depends on how it is used. Responsible usage and a balance between and online interactions one key to maximizing its 

benefits while minimizing its horns.
