School Uniforms, Evil or not?
School uniforms are used in most schools in this city, but is it valid to use them these days?
Firstly, school uniforms have some benefits that have to be discussed. In the first place, school uniforms make an image of the school, for marketing purposes. Also, they reduce distractions, as no one is wearing fancy or strange outfits. Related to this topic is that uniforms can help in bullying reduction, since nobody is wearing richer or nicer clothes than others. Also, it could save time for students, because they do not have to choose what to wear or if this goes well with that.
Despite school uniforms having many positive aspects, they also have negative features. First of all, they restrict freedom of expression, as everything is the same and nobody can choose what to wear. Secondly, the cost, as the price of the uniforms normally has a cost and is normally very high. Another thing to consider is that there is no variation of school uniforms, so students can choose the one they like the most. Furthermore, the uniforms are not designed to the actual fashion standards, so some students can consider them ugly.
In conclusion, school uniforms, despite kids hating them, the benefits surpass the negative effects, as they prevent bullying and create an image of the school. So, in my opinion, school uniforms should be used more frequently.
