SHOULD HOMEWORK BE BANNED?
Homework has been a set of tasks assigned by teachers to be completed at home for decades, but its value is increasingly being questioned. While many teachers and parents argue that homework reinforces learning and builds discipline, others think that it adds unnecessary stress and limits family and leisure time. Homework should be banned because of its negative impact on students' mental health, reduces the ability to explore other interests, and has limited benefits in improving academic performance.
Excessive homework often leads to stress, anxiety, and sleep deprivation in students. As this would cause the development of students physically and mentally to not reach their full potential, as well as a heavy workload can make it difficult for them to balance their academic and personal lives, leaving them overwhelmed. Studies have shown that students who face high levels of homework stress are more likely to experience burnout and mental health issues. Banning homework could alleviate this pressure and allow students to focus on their own well-being.
Research also suggests that homework has minimal impact on academic success, especially in younger students. this is why banning homework would create a healthier, more balanced lifestyle for students.
